Automated test cases

An AI test case generator that watches your app

Most AI test case generators work from requirements and guess at your UI. ReplayQA watches a recording of your real app, so every generated test case matches what's actually on screen.

  3. 3AI writes the test steps and final check
  4. 4Replay it in a real browser every release

An AI test case generator writes test cases for you. Most work from text: a user story, a requirements document or a prompt. They're useful for brainstorming, but the output still has to be checked against the real app, and someone still has to run it.

ReplayQA generates test cases from what really happens in your app: a screen recording of the flow. The result is an automated test case that has already been run once in a real browser before it's saved.

Text-based generation versus video-based generation

From requirements or prompts From a video (ReplayQA)
Input A user story or description A screen recording of the real flow
Knows your real UI No, it guesses labels and pages Yes, it reads them from the video
Output A written test case A written test case and an automated test
Proven before it's saved No Yes, played back in a real browser
Who runs it A person, by hand ReplayQA, whenever you press Play

Generating from text is good for finding what to test. Generating from video is good for automating what you already know works.

What ReplayQA generates

For each video, ReplayQA's AI writes:

  • Each action in order: clicks, typed text, dropdown choices (including multi-select), checkboxes, radio buttons, menus, dialogs and dates.
  • Test data, with passwords taken from an encrypted test login rather than the video.
  • An expected result: a final check for what the video ends on, such as a confirmation message or a new record in a list.

You review the draft, edit any step in a form, and ReplayQA validates it in a real browser.

Automated test cases that stay reliable

Generated tests are only valuable if they keep passing for the right reasons. ReplayQA finds elements by the words on screen, like a person would, rather than by fragile page structure. Every replay runs the same saved steps, without AI deciding what to do on the fly. And when the UI changes, it proposes a fix you approve, instead of quietly changing the test.

Frequently asked questions

What is an AI test case generator?

A tool that uses AI to write test cases for you. ReplayQA's generator works from a screen recording of your web app, so it writes the real steps, values and expected result shown in the video, and then automates the test.

How is this different from generating test cases with a chatbot?

A chatbot works from your description and has never seen your app, so it guesses at labels and flows. ReplayQA reads them from a recording of the real app and proves the steps in a real browser before saving them.

Can it generate negative test cases?

It generates the flow shown in the video. To test an error case, record it: for example, submit a form with a missing field and end on the error message. That video becomes its own test.

Can I edit the generated test cases?

Yes. Every step is plain English in a simple form. You can change values, remove steps or adjust the final check, and ReplayQA validates the edited test before it's saved.
