Notes on tests and steps
Describe what a test covers and add notes to its steps. Everyone sees them on the test's runs, and every change is kept in the history.
Notes tell your team what a test is for and what to know about its steps. They show on the test and on every run of it, so whoever looks at a failure sees them too.
Describe a test
Open the test and find About this test. Choose Add a description (or Edit), type, and save. For example, say what the test covers, who owns it, or what to check first when it fails.
Add a note to a step
Open the test's Steps page and expand a step. Under Step note, type the note and choose Add note. Use it to explain a step, for example why it waits, or what data it needs on the site. A step with a note shows the start of it in the step list.
You can add notes on any version, including an approved one, because notes aren't part of the test's steps. A step keeps its note when you edit the test and approve a new version. On a run, each note shows under its step.
History
Notes are never overwritten or deleted. Every save is kept, with who made it and when, and saving a note empty clears it without losing what it said. Choose History to see every change, newest first, for all notes or for one step.
Anyone in the workspace can read notes. Editing them needs permission to edit tests.
